Ready for In Person ABA TECHSHOW?

by SimpleLaw on

We are so ready to be back in action and, hopefully, all together again at ABA TECHSHOW 2022. We are cautiously optimistic about it all. We have definitely missed seeing everyone and all the energy, encouragement, and learning that comes with being together. Even if we are masked and not shaking hands. Other than the soft side of ABA TECHSHOW, we are missing all the great content and of course, the exhibition hall. But there are greater benefits, too.

Content

The content tracks for TECHSHOW are really great. We really like the way they have grouped them: Design, Launch, Grow, Sustain, and Transform. You can review the list, consider where your firm currently 'fits', and attend those sessions. Alternatively, preview your future state or maybe your ideal state, and learn all about that. Or, as always, mix and match.

In this new hybrid world, we really like the option to attend in-person or access the virtual sessions. The groupings include Core Concepts and Virtually Everything. One of our favorites is the seeming detail-focused 'How to Comply with the Duty of Technology Competence: A Practical Guide.' The ABA provides more information about the requirement, however, focusing on how to actually comply with the requirement, we believe, is key.

Exhibition Hall

Well, we all know why we are excited about this! We have some new stuff to show off... what can we say. Tech doesn't sleep. We are excited to show off our new platform. There is much more to discuss, but we'll hold off for now.

The best part of the Exhibition Hall is just seeing others and having a quick chat, or maybe even watching a bit of magic, whether it's our new platform or actual magic. Yup, we are bringing Danny Orleans back. Don't worry... he has done several in-person trade shows and is well prepared for all Covid protections. Be ready for some new magic, too. So even if you have seen his show with us before, it's got new stuff this year.

Of course, we know how much people appreciate the giveaways. We really considered our options and realize that many items end up in the junk drawer, or worse yet, trash, not too far long after they are 'used'. So we decided to pivot to options that are longer-lasting, that won't fill a landfill somewhere in the next six months. We won't reveal it yet(i), but you are now officially notified to be sure to stop by the booth!

Benefits of ABA TECHSHOW

Especially now, with clients leading the way to work remotely, law firms have leaped into the fray. But, based on the ABA TECHREPORT 2021, the adoption of software is still relatively low. Many firms reported using cloud-based solutions like Dropbox, G Suite, and functionally focused independent solutions, due to the pandemic. But the adoption of case management software continues to lag. Even though clients are looking for firms that offer online access to their case in order to have greater visibility to their case as well as streamlining the admin stuff, firms remain reticent to adopt.

Getting together as an industry helps us encourage each other to take the leap. The benefits are well documented by many outlets. So what holds law firms back? If the restrictions of the last two years haven't been enough reason to make the transition, what will it take? We believe it's not one thing. But all of these things combined. The push is there from clients, a global pandemic, and ongoing software enhancements. Getting together and encouraging each other to push that next boundary is really the difference. Maybe that's why adoption continues to be slow. In any case, being together again will certainly recharge us all.  Stop by our booth, #1031. We'd love to just say hello in person, once again. But we are always happy to talk tech, too! In fact, we are offering law firms free consultations on how to successfully adopt case management software. You give us the info we need and we will send you a customized adoption plan for SimpleLaw within 5 days after ABA TECHSHOW.
